Jayant Bhawal is a co-founder and CPO of Middleware, a platform aimed at improving engineering efficiency. With experience at companies like Uber, Shuttl, and 1mg, Jayant has gained valuable insights into what makes engineering teams successful and what hinders their progress. He aims to offer more visibility into the inner workings of product engineering teams and help them improve their efficiency consistently. At Uber Eats, Jayant is currently working as a UI Lead, where he has shipped data-heavy UI tools to digitize arbitrary food menus for the Eats system. He has also built a merchant's geographic overview tool to visualize Uber Eats' reach in a given region and cover gaps. Additionally, he has implemented roles-based access control for Uber Eats Manager for Merchants and assisted with building a minimum cart value for checkout and variable delivery fees systems for restaurants. Jayant has also overhauled the compliance documents experience, supporting more document types, and reducing merchant drop-off rates by improving speed and visibility into why docs get rejected. Jayant has also mentored close to a dozen juniors/new joiners, taken 110+ interviews, and co-hosted/oversaw multiple recreational events. He has presented half a dozen talks on various frontend topics and received an Impact Award. In the past, Jayant has worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Frontend Developer at Shuttl, where he took nearly 100 interviews and constantly improved the process. He also maintained and improved the quality of Shuttl's frontend design, code, and deployment systems. Jayant has also designed and worked on React-based internal systems to manage stops, routes, trips, tracking, supply chain constituents, and operational elements. Jayant completed his graduate degree in Computer Science from Army Public School in 2013. He has relevant experience of 7.37 years and is skilled in UI, Frontend, Javascript, ReactJS, Redux, Software Engineering, Typescript, Web, Ember.js, QA, ML, Tensorflow, and PHP.
