Jayant Sharma is a Machine Learning Engineer at smartex.ai with a passion for uncovering hidden insights in data through advanced analysis employing machine learning. He holds an MSc in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Freiburg. At Fraunhofer SCAI, as a member of the Bioinformatics group of the AI-Data Science department, Jayant implemented several tasks, including co-authoring an article for IEEE (under review) and completing his Master's thesis on drug repurposing and drug adverse event prediction using large-scale electronic health records of more than 4 million patients in SQL and Python. Additionally, he created an ETL pipeline including data sources from SNOMED, MedDRA, Pubmed, PheWas, and other medicine databases. He also implemented a relational Graph Attention Network (RAGAT) using PyTorch to perform knowledge graph completion and performed a comparison with other network models implemented in Tensorflow and Keras. Jayant also visualized knowledge graphs using Pyvis, networkx libraries and discovered new usage of the drug Trazodone for Bipolar disorder. Jayant has also worked as a Data Analyst at Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE, driving research activities in Database & Information Systems department on database query optimization using RDF triples. He developed experiments with different implementations of a new relational schema called "subject-object bits" in C++.
