Jayanth Chennamangalam is a Senior Applied Researcher at Huami, where he applies deep learning to digital health problems using data from wearable sensors and builds machine learning models for wearable devices. With 18.86 years of relevant experience, Jayanth has a strong background in research and development, with expertise in machine learning, image segmentation, and Jupyter. Prior to joining Huami, Jayanth served as a Machine Learning Tech Lead Manager at Skycope, where he led a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists in delivering ML-powered wireless communication/drone detection products. He defined project scope, allocated resources, and managed hiring and people management activities for the team. As a Machine Learning Engineer at Skycope, Jayanth performed R&D of deep learning systems to detect rogue drones in protected airspaces using data from radio frequency sensors. He also built models for detecting and classifying wireless signal properties and deployed deep learning models in the product using TensorRT/C++. Jayanth field-tested systems incorporating ML models and improved the performance of image segmentation algorithms. Jayanth holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astrophysics and a Master of Science (MS) in Physics from West Virginia University. He also has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University.
