Jayanth Kumar is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 8 years of experience in designing and building SaaS solutions for enterprises and start-ups. Currently, he is working as a Software Development Manager III at Amazon, where he leads the development of SaaS solutions using SaaS, Data, AI/ML technologies. Prior to Amazon, he has worked at Delhivery as an Engineering Manager, where he built and launched logistic SaaS solutions for a new geography. He has also worked as the Head of Engineering and Founding Team member at Goodhealth, where he designed and built multiple products in insurance and healthcare tech. Jayanth is a passionate Engineering Leader with expertise in backend technologies, big data technologies, ML systems, and DevOps engineering. He enjoys designing enterprise architecture, project planning, and working in fast-paced agile culture. He has contributed to shipping two products and an SDK along with side patents and research papers at SAP. Jayanth holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Graduate Certificate in Data Mining and Applications from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Honours in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He also completed his Intermediate studies in Science from Delhi Public School. Jayanth has a strong technical background and expertise in Software Engineering, AI, ML, AWS, Big Data, Research Scientist, DevOps, Backend, Docker, CI/CD, Django, Flask, and Integration. He has also contributed to the open-source community with his project Pyoracc. Jayanth is a skilled leader with experience in hiring, team growth, appraisals, and career progressions. He has interviewed around 200 candidates and helped recruit developers, senior developers, TLs, and EMs across the organization. He has mentored and supported multiple developers to grow in his team as senior devs to take ownership and ramped up freshers into contributing and owning their charters. He has distributed the team into specific pods to run different charters and ensured high-velocity delivery by setting up an agile process by proper task prioritization and reusable component library architecture. He has also ensured timely updates to stakeholders and aligned them on the technical initiatives for the long-term product vision, resolving customer escalations on the go and doing RCA with a fix.
