Jayavardhan Hegde is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 11 years of experience in building and managing distributed systems and platforms for e-commerce companies. Currently, he works as an Engineering Manager at Rakuten, where he is responsible for building and managing the entire back-end platform for one of India's most trusted beauty online stores. He leads engineering efforts across platforms for the deliverables and has built an in-house data analytics platform from the ground-up using open-source tools, which has helped the organization take actionable insights. Jayavardhan is a hands-on leader who has planned and designed the complete architecture for the backend platform with Microservices architectural principles. He has also identified and planned for AI/ML use-cases for upsell/cross-sell on the platform. He has introduced cutting-edge technologies and tools to boost the performance of the APIs, and he has built a team of engineers who are polyglot in nature and contribute to cross-product.
