Jeet Desai is an Industrial Ph.D Student at IRT SystemX, with a strong passion for research and finding practical applications of mathematical theory in industry. Currently, he is focused on optimizing structures subjected to contact, plasticity, fatigue, and fracture, working towards the development of a topology optimization platform. He is supervised by François Jouve from Université Paris Diderot and Grégoire Allaire from École Polytechnique, and his project partners include Renault, Airbus, Safran, and ESI. Jeet has previously worked as a Research Intern at IRT SystemX, where he developed a robust solver for static contact mechanics and implemented a topology optimization algorithm using level-set on FreeFEM++. He has also worked as a Research Trainee at Grenoble INP - Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, where he focused on shape and topology optimization in elasto-acoustics using the level-set method. During his time there, he developed efficient numerical schemes that reduce the target functional in minimum iterations on FreeFEM++ and determined optimum shapes of 2D room, 3D room, 2D sound barriers, and 2D auditorium for several frequencies. Jeet holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, and a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Pierre and Marie Curie University. He also completed his Science, HSC from Thakur Vidya Mandir Junior College. With 5.45 years of relevant experience, Jeet's tech stack includes being a Research Scientist. Overall, Jeet is a highly motivated researcher with a strong interest in the practical applications of mathematical theory in industry. His experience in developing efficient numerical schemes and topology optimization algorithms makes him a valuable asset to any research team.
