Jeffrey Arnold is a seasoned data scientist, machine learning engineer, and economist with almost a decade of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Founding Engineer at Mercator, where he is responsible for developing and implementing software solutions. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Instacart, where he built and analyzed a ranking method to recommend deals on a new app surface, Deals Tab, resulting in an increase in user retention. He also estimated product-level demand elasticity for Instacart products using scalable regression methods on aggregate data, developed simulations to inform decisions on changes to advertising auctions, and designed and evaluated Instacart's automated bidding system, now used by more than 50% of advertisers. Jeffrey holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Rochester, where he also earned a Master of Arts degree. He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics and Government at Dartmouth College.
