Jeffrey Wong is a Site Reliability Engineer at Zynga with over 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Central Florida. Jeffrey's passion for problem-solving is evident in his innate curiosity to gain more knowledge about technology and take on new challenges. He is proactive in asking questions, searching online, and scavenging through books to discover more information when faced with the unknown. At Zynga, Jeffrey provides infrastructure and Linux administration support for all games, including system, network, security, storage, and software aspects. He actively monitors, troubleshoots, modifies, and improves infrastructure through AWS (EC2, S3 Buckets, etc.), Splunk, Nagios, Datadog, Rightscale, PagerDuty, UltraDNS, Jira, GitHub, Wiki, etc. He works in a virtual environment, maintaining availability of games, analyzing data/logs, and more. He also manages cloud services (CloudHealth, Redlock, etc.) as well as works on server and application issues. Previously, Jeffrey worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Cyber Systems Administrator, where he supported IT infrastructure development and capabilities in a Unix/Linux/Windows environment for UK’s biometric program, FABrIC, since the IDENT1 program. He was responsible for system/network administration, CLI and scripting, DNS/LDAP configurations, hardware, updated system documentation/procedures, installation/patching/deployment, and backup/recovery tasks. He also maintained, troubleshooted, built, and configured biometric live scan machines, Symantec NetBackup, SCCM, AD, and Novell ZENworks as well as contributed to automation processes. He was also responsible for data center operations, with hundreds of data storage/server equipment and numerous switches, such as cabling, racking, RMA’s, equipment issues, etc. Jeffrey also worked at Nickelodeon Suites Resort (now known as Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark) as an IT Administrator. He managed Active Directory (AD), Exchange Admin Center, and other systems as well as switches. He updated system documentation, configured systems/devices to efficiently utilize capabilities, and data center operations. He actively contributed to projects that expanded and updated the resort’s IT infrastructure such as a technology refresh for resort Windows computers and point of sale (POS) system machines.
