Jemshad O K is a hands-on Engineering Manager and Systems Architect with over 15 years of industry experience. He is currently serving as a Staff Engineer/SRE at Wayfair, where he designs and implements large-scale distributed systems. With good knowledge of Unix internals and troubleshooting, Jemshad is also skilled in Python and Bash scripting. Jemshad's areas of interest include DNS, Unix/Linux internals, networking, and troubleshooting. He is highly experienced in managing teams and handling Hadoop and database operations. At InMobi, Jemshad managed two teams responsible for handling petabytes of data across four Hadoop clusters, both on bare metal data centers and on Azure cloud. His expertise in DNS allowed him to revamp the entire DNS infrastructure at InMobi, catering to the extremely low latency requirements of the Ad business. He also worked on service registry/discovery using Airbnb's synapse and nerve, testing and deploying service registry implementation with custom modifications to suit the requirements at InMobi. Jemshad holds a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, where he graduated in 2002. His tech stack includes SRE, Hadoop, Senior Software Engineer, Mobile, SQL, Python, Spark, MySQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Azure, test, Docker, and infra.
