Jenil Dedhia is a Co-Founder at U-Farm and an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. With almost 7 years of experience in the industry, Jenil has worked on a variety of projects ranging from digital solutions to flow chemistry. Currently, Jenil is working as the Assistant Manager - Flow Reactors at Amar Equipments Pvt Ltd. He leads the technical sales team of application engineers and pitches continuous flow technology to the industry. He is responsible for generating leads for the company through various offline and digital marketing efforts. Jenil also builds and maintains positive business relationships with existing and prospective clientele. He has developed protocols for characterizing flow reactors for heat transfer, mass transfer, pressure drop, and built predictive models for reactor performance. He has also planned and executed flow chemistry process development projects from proof of concept to commercial scale-ups. In the past, Jenil has worked as a Product Lead - Digital Solutions at Anagha. He has interacted with corporate companies and pitched customized digital solutions to cater to their specific needs and vision towards improving their efficiency of product development/manufacturing/supply chain. He has also developed Process Digital Twins for critical unit operations in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industries which help in reducing the cost/risk of product development and manufacturing drugs. Jenil has co-authored a publication on 'Physics-driven process Digital Twins' and presented it in BITS-Pilani organized IPRoMM 2020 conference, securing 'first runner up' Best Paper awards. Jenil is also the Co-Founder of U-Farm, a SINE-IIT Bombay and BIRAC funded startup, with a vision to enable urban farming in Indian cities through easy-to-operate tech-enabled vertical farms. He has built and led a team of engineers and horticulturists to develop India's first IOT-powered modular vertical farm to grow micro-greens and leafy greens. He has automated the process of growing greens from seed-to-harvest without the use of soil and sunlight with 90% less water and 5 % footprint of traditional farming. Jenil has sealed deals with hotels like Renaissance, JW Marriott, Sahara Star for vertical farm installations (with 100+ hotels India partnership with Marriott Group in pipeline during pre-COVID time).
