Jennifer Basalone is a highly experienced Engineering Manager with over 22 years of relevant experience. She is currently working at Dropbox as a Senior Engineering Manager for the Filesystem Team, where she plays a significant role in the company's KTLO-as-a-whole. Jennifer's team is responsible for improving the sharing capabilities, scalability, and performance of the Dropbox filesystem. Additionally, they are working on a massive project to improve the developer experience and productivity when coding against the filesystem. Prior to her current role, Jennifer worked at Cisco as an Engineering Manager, where she helped drive a culture of Engineering Excellence and Innovation. She led efforts within Cisco Umbrella and the community, driving initiatives like Agile Training, OpenSource Initiatives, company-wide Hackathons, Meetups, and Blog Publishing. Jennifer also created and executed AWS cost reduction and accountability across all functions, enabling teams to save millions in combined efforts. She coached on AWS best practices for usage and management while enabling a culture of cost transparency within engineering. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from George Mason University and an A.S. in Biology from Northern Virginia Community College.
