Jerica Wilson is an experienced iOS Developer currently working at Saturn. With a career spanning more than 18 years, she has been working in software development since 1999, and has a degree in Computer Science since 2004. She has been developing for iOS since 2008 and has worked with Swift, Objective-C, and other paradigms such as protocol oriented programming, modular development, RxSwift, Observable patterns, Unidirectional architecture, and MVVM. Jerica has worked as an iOS Engineer at Lyft, where she developed both the passenger and driver apps across rideshare, transit, and rentals features. She also helped out as a backend engineer to unblock herself and other mobile engineers. She mentored new engineers both backend and iOS, introduced them to tools and standards, and code reviewed their work. Jerica went above and beyond, sharing knowledge of their complex development environments and helping troubleshoot and improve these systems in the process. She developed scripts for automating common but difficult tasks in dev environments as well as proxy mock scripts that help mobile engineers get their work done when the server/backend service work has not been done yet. Prior to Lyft, Jerica worked as a Principal Mobile Developer at Avvo, where she helped build Avvo’s mobile team from the ground up and developed both lawyer-facing and consumer-facing mobile apps. She worked together with Product, QA, Design, and API developers to deliver an excellent user experience in a short amount of time with limited resources. She built several new apps and revamped old ones, working on Appstore SEO initiatives in developing consumer mobile strategy. In addition to her professional work, Jerica has volunteered her time and skills to several non-profits, doing social media, IT, and website work. She has also taught software development via Appcamp4girls and served as Chair of the IT Committee for Cheer Seattle, as well as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Cheer Seattle and Social Media Coordinator for Pride Cheerleading Association. Jerica is interested in blockchain technology and has a broad tech stack that includes iOS, Backend, Mobile, Blockchain, Software Engineer, Swift, Objective-C, and QA. She is a cosplayer, costume-maker, and seamstress, and has performed via Dance/Cheer with Cheer Seattle.
