Jesse Warden is a Staff Software Engineer at Koalafi with over 20 years of experience in software development. He has worked with startups, freelanced, attempted his own software products, ran a consulting shop with partners, consulted at large enterprises with Accenture, and now writes software at Capital One. His career has mostly been all about building UI's, starting with Director and Lingo. He transitioned over to Flash and ActionScript to make working with designers easier, and as his programming skills grew, he transitioned to Flex to take on larger software projects. When Flash Player died because of the iPhone, he transitioned to JavaScript and Backbone, then Angular, and now React. He also started doing more back-end API work using Node and has been focused on Functional Programming and serverless for the past 4 years. Jesse is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He used to be in the conference circuit and loved speaking all around the world at various user groups, conferences, and workshops. Outside of tech, Jesse alternates between Bodybuilding and Powerlifting. He loves Parkour when it's warm outside. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Reinhardt University and an Associate’s Degree in Multimedia - illustration, animation, audio, programming, EVERYTHING AWESOME from Art Institute of Atlanta.
