Jessica Dommes is an accomplished engineering leader with over 11 years of experience in building efficient teams and organizations. As the Director of Engineering, Mobile Application Development at Sephora, she specializes in solving large and complex structural or interpersonal challenges while leading through change and setting vision and strategy for achieving goals. Jessica is a strong partner to product, design, QA, marketing, and other involved teams outside of engineering. She has led app teams through massive organizational transitions that required them to overhaul all of their apps. She partnered with senior leadership to guide rollout and strategy, and with the marketing team on the communication plan to users. She drove process changes that enabled US-based teams to work seamlessly with international teams, which significantly reduced overhead. Prior to joining Sephora, Jessica worked as the Associate Director of Software Engineering at The Knot Worldwide, where she frequently fixed large structural issues on teams to help them work better together and more efficiently. She drove vision and strategy for their apps as products as well as engineering process. She also built resilient future leaders through mentorship and coaching across her own teams and other engineering leadership across the organization. Jessica's experience also includes working as a Senior Engineering Manager, Mobile at WeddingWire, where she led app teams through a massive organizational transition that required them to overhaul all of their apps. She partnered with senior leadership to guide rollout and strategy, and with the marketing team on the communication plan to users. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Game Design & Development with a minor in Japanese Language from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her technical expertise includes mobile, senior software engineering, web, and QA. She is passionate about advocating for continued education on leadership skills amongst engineering managers and directors.
