Jessie Young is a highly experienced software engineer with over 10 years of experience in the field. She has deep expertise in identity systems, API design, and leading effective engineering teams. Currently, she is working as a Principal Software Engineer at Salesforce, where she is a part of the Identity team for Heroku. Her primary focus this year is on setting the groundwork for a multi-year effort to streamline logins among different Salesforce products. Jessie uses her extensive knowledge of the existing authentication ecosystem to help craft long-ranging plans for migrating to a centralized auth system. Last year, she focused on integrating with internal systems and building features to encourage more Heroku users to protect their accounts with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). In addition to her project work, Jessie is part of an on-call rotation supporting the public-facing Heroku API as well as a dozen other systems that are central to the Heroku ecosystem. Her work is primarily in Ruby (Sinatra, Rails, other) with a sprinkling of Go. Prior to her current role, Jessie held the positions of Lead Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Salesforce. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College and a High School Diploma from Palo Alto High School. Her tech stack includes Software Engineer, Ruby, Salesforce, and Senior Software Engineer.
