Jesus Gerardo Alvarado Mantecon is a Machine Learning Specialist with over 5 years of experience in software development. He is passionate about machine learning and natural language processing and is interested in software architecture, machine learning engineering, and big data. Currently, Jesus works at The OpenNMS Group as a Machine Learning Specialist. Prior to this, he worked at Virtamove as a Software Developer/Machine Learning Engineer, where he integrated AI components into legacy software for software migrations. He designed, collected, cleaned, and analyzed data to train machine learning predictive models. Jesus also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa, where he researched natural language processing and machine learning. He identified, extracted, and transformed features from written text to train and evaluate multiple machine learning algorithms. The developed models were used to classify and grade student-generated text for better assessment of their knowledge. During his research, he published a paper as first author at the Educational Data Mining conference in 2018. Jesus holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. He has experience working with ML, NLP, software engineering, research science, big data, AI, Keras, Scikit, Python, Tensorflow, and Pandas.
