Jez Ng is a highly skilled software engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently, he works as a Software Engineer at Facebook, where he has been involved in a variety of systems, PL, and compiler projects. He has worked on Hack's typechecker, the Android bytecode optimizer Redex, and the Mach-O backend for LLD, LLVM's linker. Prior to his current role, Jez was a Research Engineering Intern at Mozilla, where he worked on Emscripten, the LLVM-to-Javascript compiler. He also prototyped a new LLVM backend to improve compilation speeds on large projects, added source map support, and improved runtime support. Before that, he was a Platform Engineering Intern at Inkling, where he worked on the backend for its e-book authoring software. He created and deployed a REST API for managing SVN repositories, designed a Pythonic library to wrap libsvn's SWIG bindings, and wrote lint checks for the XML and SASS that comprise Inkling's book format. Jez holds a B.A in Mathematics and Computer Science from Amherst College, where he graduated in 2014. He also has an 'A' Levels degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Theory of Knowledge from Hwa Chong Institution, which he obtained in 2007.
