Jiachen Wang is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for emerging technologies like AI/ML. Currently working at Google, Jiachen is dedicated to protecting global users with intelligence through Android and Google Play App Safety. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Jiachen has a strong background in software engineering, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, and computer vision. Prior to his current role at Google, Jiachen worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft where he built an intelligent monitoring and analytics system for deployments in the cloud. He also designed Time Series Analysis for performance Anomaly Detection and alerting with Machine Learning, created a Decision Tree model for actionable Root Cause Diagnosis to aid incident investigation across teams, and leveraged NLP sentiment analysis on user feedback understanding and classification on alerts. Additionally, he secured cloud reliability by detecting, alerting, and tracking nearly 90% severe regressions in time. Jiachen also worked as a Research Intern at Vanderbilt Medical-Image Analysis and Statistical Interpretation Lab where he designed a Machine Learning model for lung cancer early detection. He created a 3D Attention-based Convolutional Neural Network model for learning from images and built an end-to-end ML pipeline that co-learns from Deep Learning image features and clinical data. Jiachen achieved a final diagnosis accuracy of over 80%, and his research paper was accepted to SPIE medical imaging. Jiachen obtained his Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude in Computer Science (with honor) and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in 2019.
