Jiahui Ding is an enthusiastic and fast-learning Machine Learning Engineer with 2.78 years of relevant experience. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Wuhan University. Jiahui is proficient in multiple programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and SQL, and has a good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and the basic concepts of Machine Learning. Jiahui has internship experience in Backend Development, Recommender Systems, and Machine Learning at Alibaba Group and Twitter. At Amazon, she worked as a Software Engineer Intern in the Ads Prediction Machine Learning Infrastructure team, where she successfully improved the QPM of parameter service from 300k to 450k by optimizing the inefficient part of Java and Scala code. She also enabled Java TensorFlow GPU for deep neural network training of parameter service and analyzed the detail of code and performance metrics to conclude that more CPU is needed to speed up the training. At Alibaba, Jiahui worked as an Algorithm Engineer, where she designed and implemented algorithms on the backend of a Recommender System for Taobao mobile phone app. She also devised a modified Label Propagation Algorithm with the ability to control the size of the cluster to satisfy the needs of downstream applications. Jiahui adjusted a GBDT model on Alibaba Machine Learning platform to rank the similarity between items and built a data stream to gather and preprocess input dataset and provide the result to downstream applications. The recommendation result was shown to more than a hundred million users. Jiahui's tech stack includes ML, Java, Backend, SQL, Python, Neural Networks, Software Engineer, TensorFlow, infra, MapReduce, Javascript, Mobile, Deep Learning, test, PHP, Hadoop, and Web.
