Jianwei (Jeff) Gong is a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for computer science. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, and works as a Teaching Assistant in the Computer Science and Engineering Department. In this role, he teaches CSE 12, which covers basic data structures and object-oriented design. Before joining UCSD, Jeff worked as a Back End Developer at Tencent, where he was responsible for maintaining the recommender system in the recommendation team. He utilized Go, RPC, and Protocol Buffer to decouple the recommender system execution flow into different modules based on functionality. He also improved the monitor system by tracking the running statistics of each module, including time cost and QPS. His efforts resulted in a 10% decrease in the resulting time cost of the recommendation executing flow for the home page. Jeff has also worked as a Tutor at Santa Rosa Junior College, where he helped students solve problems in coursework related to calculus, statistics, and economics. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and an Associate's degree in Economics from the University of California and Santa Rosa Junior College, respectively. Jeff's technical skills include a strong understanding of backend development and relevant experience of 0.43 years. He has a solid grasp of programming languages like Java, C++, and Python. Jeff is highly motivated and always eager to learn new things. He is a team player and has excellent communication skills.
