Jigar Dafda is a seasoned Product Builder and Software Architect with over 9 years of experience in the software industry. He has worked extensively with startups as well as large companies, and has looked over the entire lifecycle of product development in product-based companies. Jigar has built and architected several successful products, including Fynd Platform, PixelBin, EraseBG, UpscaleMedia, Frolic, and GlamAR. He is currently the Head of Product & Engineering at Fynd, where he manages a team of over 500+ expert engineers, product managers, and techies. He ensures collaboration between intra-engineering teams and is responsible for the development and maintenance of major user-facing parts of Fynd, including mobile applications, website, backend, cart, affiliates integrations with third parties, and infrastructure. Jigar is also building a one-stop solution called ‘Fynd Platform’ for internal and external concerned parties. Jigar spends more than 30% of his daily time in coding and sticking to his software engineering roots. He is passionate about solving new and complex problems daily and is a technical leader and mentor to his team. He is a bridge between the technical team and the project manager, and has the ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly to cater to project requirements. Jigar's successful areas of problem-solving approach include architecting and implementing end-to-end core of Fynd products for user-facing systems, making the whole infrastructure fully automated to deploy production in a single git tag commit with all CI/CD flow, and expertise in building and managing highly scalable infrastructure with Kubernetes, Kafka, DevOps, AWS, and GCP. Jigar's rule-book consists of clean coding, test/behaviour driven development, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and agile/scrum methodologies. He has domain knowledge in e-commerce, media and entertainment, affiliate marketing, cart and payment, social collaboration, and information security. Jigar holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Engineering from NIT Surat.
