Jillian Breau is a talented Frontend Engineer with a passion for sustainable technology and helping underrepresented groups break into the tech industry. With a degree in Computer Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Jillian has gained extensive experience in full stack development, working with both startups and large companies. Currently, Jillian works as a Frontend Engineer at Sylvera, where she has contributed to the development of an API for users to interface with release information in PostgreSQL tables, developed a Python tool to generate Confluence tables and GraphViz images from data stored in a PostgreSQL database and Git repositories, and automated the validation of Gerrit reviews and Product Jira tasks using Jenkins and Python. Prior to her current role, Jillian worked as a Software Team Lead at Hyke Up, where she designed and implemented web and mobile app features, created and documented product requirements, tracked progress to ensure timely delivery of project milestones, and managed a team of in-house and contract software developers. She also worked as a Software Development Student at Hyke Up, where she implemented frontend and backend web features using JavaScript and React and designed elements of the user interface. Jillian is passionate about mentorship, leadership, accessible education, gender equality, and mental health advocacy, and has volunteered with organizations focused on these areas. She is also a Chapter Lead at Canada Learning Code, where she helps to teach coding skills to people of all ages and backgrounds. Jillian's tech stack includes Frontend, Python, Typescript, Jenkins, and UI design. With 1.77 years of relevant experience, she is a skilled and dedicated engineer with a passion for creating sustainable and accessible technology.
