Joel Jorly is an Associate Software Engineer at Vanenburg with a passion for research and development. While there, he created an AI-based mobile app that can automatically detect plant species from an input image. He also worked alongside the research team in composing a well-structured research paper for publication in an esteemed journal. In addition, Joel has worked as a Data Science Intern at The Sparks Foundation, where he was responsible for writing programs to collect, crunch, and analyze data from internal and external sources. He built and tuned machine learning models using R, Python, and other tools. He also used BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to analyze data, find important patterns, and design visualization dashboards. Joel contributed towards many projects, including the exploratory data analysis for a retail store, and worked on a dynamic website and integrated a custom payment gateway. Joel holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, where he is currently pursuing his degree and is expected to graduate in December 2022.
