Joel has a strong educational background, having completed his Engineer's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Joel's previous experience includes working as a Consultant at Deloitte, where he was part of the Cyber Technology Risk services division. He conducted Cyber Strategy Framework implementation projects, helping organizations understand their level of cyber resilience based on their critical business assets, threat landscape, and maturity of their cyber capabilities. Joel also acted as an Information Security Officer for a large Oil & Gas firm, where he was responsible for risk assessment, resolution of security issues/incidents, and developing information security training content and awareness sessions. Joel has also performed ISO 27001 gap assessments and implementation guidance projects, developed IT and Information Security policies and procedures, and drafted hardening standards for network devices in accordance with best practices. He identified major risk areas within organizations and assessed them in terms of their risk level, developed a risk-based Internal Audit Plan for three years, and conducted various audits and reviews, including IT General Computer Controls, Datacenter review, and IT Governance. In addition, Joel provided support on Business Continuity Management Implementation projects in alignment with best practices and evaluated technical proposals from vendors. He has also created various technical and corresponding financial proposals.
