John Mathew is a seasoned Product Leader with over a decade of experience across both mass-consumer and B2B SaaS businesses. Currently, he serves as the VP of Product at Lokal, a Y Combinator-backed startup. John is extremely passionate about building consumer products and enjoys working on technology disruptions that change the way people build and consume products. He is a proponent of inclusive product management which takes both customers and the team together while building a business viable product. Prior to Lokal, John served as the Sr VP of Product at Lummo (formerly Bukukas), where he positively impacted small and medium businesses in Indonesia by accelerating their journey to digitization. He headed product across the organization for BukuKas and Tokko, built a truly global product/design team, and set up the product/design org along with processes and best practices which helped to successfully scale from 3 to 30+ members in less than a year. John also launched BukuKas Pay which is the payments offering in the BukuKas app and drove it to $1 Billion+ annualized TPV (150K+ users) in just 4 months from launch. Before Lummo, John was the Head of Product at Hansel.io, where he drove product strategy and execution to align with their product vision. He hired and led both product and design teams, and was at the core of designing and building the Hansel platform which serves millions of users across several large companies worldwide. John also did multiple product pivots to arrive at 'Product Experiences' which is Hansel's flagship product and conversion optimization platform. John holds an MBA (PGDM) in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai. He also completed his Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Electronics education from Swami Vivekanand Junior College. John's strong skill set includes Senior Software Engineering, Product Management, and Testing. With his relevant experience of 11.95 years, John has made significant contributions to the product development and management space, and is a valuable asset to any organization.
