John Sundarraj is a highly experienced software engineer with over 12 years of experience in the tech industry. He is currently working as Employee #1 and Co-founder at SloopStash, a technology-based product startup company that builds cloud software to enhance team productivity and infrastructure security. John is responsible for designing and building SloopEngine, an R&D driven cloud-based SaaS product that enables online software teams to work securely on the cloud. He has built SloopEngine core and its key features from scratch through intense R&D. He has also designed microservices/services of SloopEngine stack to adapt multi-pod architecture and extending it to a hybrid cloud model. John has automated infrastructure provisioning of 30+ AWS services to run the production environment of SloopEngine stack on the AWS cloud. He has also automated deployment of microservices/services of SloopEngine stack using Chef on the AWS cloud. John has containerized microservices/services of SloopEngine stack using the Docker container engine and automated/orchestrated Docker containers of SloopEngine stack using Swarm and Kubernetes for parallelly running multiple environments. He is managing infrastructure and deployments of Elasticsearch, Redis, MySQL, etc. Prior to SloopStash, John worked as a DevOps Specialist at Freshworks, where he managed isolated Elasticsearch clusters for Freshdesk, Freshservice, and Freshsales when operating at millions of requests per hour. He was involved in debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning (JVM), scaling, migration, and monitoring of Elasticsearch clusters. John also managed capacity planning, infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and scaling of data clusters such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Riak, and Redis on the AWS cloud. He containerized microservices/services of Freshdesk and Freshservice stacks using the Docker container engine. John built his own Ruby CLI app to automate/orchestrate Docker containers of Freshdesk and Freshservice stacks for parallelly running multiple environments on the AWS cloud at a large scale. He was also involved in Nagios performance tuning and optimization. John built custom dashboards and visualizations in Splunk using log data extracted from microservices/services of Freshdesk stack. He automated deployment of OSSEC security software on the AWS cloud and automated deployment of microservices/services of Freshdesk stack using Chef on the AWS cloud.
