Johns Paul is a highly motivated Senior Program Analyst at Citi with a passion for high-performance in-memory database processing on CPU-GPU or CPU-FPGA hybrid systems. With a background in Computer Science, he has made significant contributions to the field of big data processing through his research on the challenges involved in moving data between the CPU and co-processors and efficiently utilizing the memory hierarchy of co-processors like GPUs. Johns' goal is to develop a fully functional high-performance database engine for hybrid systems that makes better use of the co-processor resources when compared to existing query processing engines. He is driven by both the move towards heterogeneous systems for accelerating big data processing and the absence of a well-optimized query processing engine for co-processors. Prior to joining Citi, Johns worked as a Research Assistant and Intern at the National University of Singapore, where he gained valuable experience in the field of computer science. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Nanyang Technological University, as well as a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from NIT Calicut. With a keen interest in Big Data and a strong research background, Johns is a valuable asset to any team. He is highly skilled in the use of a range of technologies and has a proven track record of success in his field.
