Jonathan Kim is a highly skilled software engineer and UI designer with a passion for working on ambitious tech projects. With over 9 years of relevant experience, he is proficient in iOS/macOS engineering, web development, branding, wireframing, and prototyping. Currently, Jonathan is serving as a Senior Software Engineer at meta, where he is working on Instagram Mental Health. In this role, he has launched several features to help users improve their mental well-being, including a highly discussed feature to help users take a break, voter empowerment features for the US 2020 elections, improved eating disorders resources, and Wellness Guides that provided reliable mental well-being resources during COVID-19 to millions of users globally. Prior to joining meta, Jonathan worked as an iOS Software Engineer at Google, where he created a library used by Allo and GBoard that generates a sticker pack from a user’s selfie using ML. He also developed novel ways to edit and collage images in Allo and improved build performance, test suite efficiency, and release process for Hangouts Chat. Jonathan has also worked as a macOS/iOS Software Engineer at Apple, where he developed high visibility features in Objective-C for first-party macOS applications and frameworks, including Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, and EventKit. He was also part of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar launch team, working with designers and AppKit developers to create new Touch Bar experiences. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University, where he gained a strong foundation in software engineering and related fields. His tech stack includes skills in software engineering, iOS, web development, design, UI, test, ML, and Objective-C. Jonathan is a highly motivated team player with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
