Josh Rogen is a software engineer with a passion for making the world a better place through technology. With over 11 years of relevant experience, he is skilled in AWS, MySQL, microservices, backend and frontend development, and more. Josh is a believer in small and consistent improvements, which he applies to his career to achieve incredible long-term results. He is passionate about designing usable and accessible user experiences that add value to our daily lives. Currently, Josh is a Full Stack Software Engineer at Foody, an interactive restaurant ratings website. He has designed the back-end architecture for a home rentals website with over ten million global records and loves working with React to create responsive and usable web pages. In the past, Josh has worked at Vacay, a vacation rental online marketplace, and Reasonably Fast, a fitness tracking platform. At Vacay, he utilized PostgresQL and PostGIS to accurately query over ten million entries and raised throughput from 19k rpm to over 32k rpm. At Reasonably Fast, he synced the Moment.js library to the Strava API to help users track their daily runs and weekly mileage. Josh holds a Master's degree in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies from Vanderbilt University, where he also earned a degree in Secondary Education | English. He also attended Hack Reactor. When he's not coding, Josh enjoys running with his dogs and watching sports, even though his teams are consistently terrible.
