Joshua Shanks is a highly experienced software engineer with a career spanning over 17 years. He has worked with a range of companies, from early stage startups to Amazon, and is currently a Member of Technical Staff at Chronosphere. Joshua is passionate about security, reliability, testing, and improving interview processes. He has a background in full stack and backend development, but now mostly focuses on infrastructure. Prior to his current role, Joshua worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Stripe, where he specialized in Reliability Patterns & Patterns and Service Networking (consul). He also served as a Lead Site Reliability Engineer at Reciprocity Inc, where he was responsible for long term organization planning, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and developer tooling as part of the Techops Team. Joshua earned his BS in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006.
