Joshua Wedekind is a professional software engineer with over 9 years of experience in designing and implementing application backends, Restful APIs, web app frontends, and developer tools. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Compass, where he has joined the Builder Tools team to develop world-class tooling and processes for frontend and backend software engineers. Joshua is responsible for the architecture, development, and deployment of multiple successful startup projects. He is proficient with TypeScript build toolchains for frontend codebases at scale. Before joining Compass, Joshua worked as a Software Engineer II at Microsoft, where he developed Heft and Rushstack toolchain features for large scale TypeScript monorepos. He also worked on processes and plugins to compile and validate frontend code and improved internal tools for UI integration test automation. Joshua has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle Central College, where he instructed part-time evening courses on web development topics ranging from programming basics with Python to advanced web authoring with Node.js and Sass. Joshua has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Missouri and an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Johnson County Community College.
