Joy Parikh is a highly driven research professional with a diverse work experience, having worked at some of the world's best companies and institutions such as Apple, Harvard University, and Massachusetts General Hospital, among others. With a Master's degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Joy has honed her skills in understanding problems and coming up with innovative solutions in a variety of areas such as cybersecurity, medicine, astrophysics, and software development. Joy's experiences in collaborating with some of the best minds globally have sensitized her towards working with team mates from different cultures and backgrounds. She has contributed to key publications and projects, including developing a python library- Neurodiffeq, adding functionalities to optimize processing power and speed up solving differential equations using neural networks, and developing a model that generates a general solution to an equation, eradicating the need to retrain for different parameters and initial conditions. Additionally, Joy has worked on ML in medicine, developing a predictive ML pipeline trained on a dataset with over 10,000 entries to generate the risk of cancer based on symptoms entered, and on ML in cybersecurity, performing data mining and validation, optimizing malware and fault detection algorithms, and separating genuine instances from anomalies. Currently working as an AR/VR Software Engineer at Apple, Joy is responsible for developing a performance measuring and comparison tool for the RealityKit. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard IACS, where she analyzed and optimized the implementation for solving differential equations using neural networks built on PyTorch, and at Nanyang Technological University as a Research Intern, where she cleaned and analyzed Hardware Performance Counter data to identify anomalies in automotive modules.
