Joydeep Medhi is a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist with over 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. He has a strong background in Computer Vision research and production, and has worked extensively in the Retail domain, focusing on customer service improvement and business insights through technologies such as Computer Vision, Self Checkout, Action/Theft Recognition, Semi-Supervised Learning, and Active Learning for Object Detection. Currently working as a Lead Data Scientist at Lowe's Companies, Inc., Joydeep is responsible for leading Computer Vision/Deep Learning R&D in the Retail domain, and has successfully implemented various projects to improve customer experience and boost business growth. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior ML Research Engineer at Mercedes Benz, where he was involved in Computer Vision/Deep Learning research and development for production, as well as FaceID/Driver Monitoring/ADAS research and development, and Interior Sensing and Scene Understanding. He also worked as a Machine Learning Algorithm Engineer at Mercedes Benz, where he developed the AI module for the MBUX Gesture Recognition System for S-Class, and worked on Intelligent Interior Assistant using Computer Vision/Deep Learning, Human Pose Estimation, and Gesture Recognition for Mercedes-Benz Cars. Joydeep holds a Master of Technology degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, as well as a Bachelor of Technology degree in the same field from the same institution. He also completed his Class 12th from Ramanujan Junior College and his schooling from Sankardev Bidya Niketon, Nagaon.
