Julian Blair is a Software Engineer at TikTok ♪ with a passion for learning and making a positive impact on society. He was born and raised in Sydney but has spent a significant portion of his life living abroad, which has allowed him to embrace the unknown and take on new challenges. He has a broad range of academic pursuits, including computer science, economics, Chinese, history, and statistics, and has applied himself in each of these fields. Julian is a Dean's Honors List recipient in economics from the University of California, Davis, and enjoys teaching as much as he does learning. He has four years of experience as a private and university tutor and has applied his passion for teaching and learning in his prior work experience as well. Julian also developed an internal platform retry library based on GoLang, resulting in p90 latency improvements of up to 30% on some APIs. Julian has a Bachelor of Science in BSc and a Bachelor of Commerce in BCom from the University of New South Wales. He also has a Higher School Certificate from Knox Grammar School and has attended Hong Kong Academy and UWC South East Asia.
