Julian Buitrago is a seasoned IT professional with over 10 years of experience in the field. For the past three years, he has focused on cloud system operations, working with AWS, GCP, and Rackspace. Julian has superior troubleshooting and technical support abilities with migrations, network connectivity, security, and database applications. He has also worked as a Tech Lead of a B.I. Team for two years. Julian is currently working as a Platform Engineering Manager at Anheuser-Busch InBev. In his previous role as a Cloud Engineer / Technical Leader at Globant, he managed the deploys of backend bank services (Java APIs) for a mobile app and monitored the frontend builds of the iOS and Android deploys. He was responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring (Splunk and AppDynamics), emergency response (alerts with xMatters), and capacity planning. He created the production readiness of the bank mobile app and dealt with incidents post-mortem with many different teams in the bank. Julian has also worked as an IT Corporate - Cloud Sysadmin Senior at Binbit, where he migrated dedicated servers in Rackspace to GCP and Hetzner Servers with Proxmox. He migrated databases to AWS – RDS with dumps and also with replications to have less downtime. He mounted the check_mk server (nagios fork) with all the agents per server to have a complete view of the servers. He also created a replication of the current MySQL databases and MongoDB databases. Julian holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the Universidad Sergio Arboleda. He is always eager to learn and expand his knowledge in System administration, DevOps, databases, and Big Data.
