Julien Lang is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Manager with over 10 years of experience in the software industry. He is passionate about innovation and loves working on software applications for hardware solutions. Julien has worked in highly regulated industries as an individual contributor, tech lead, and manager. Julien is highly curious and has a broad scientific/technical set of knowledge, which allows him to easily collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams. He is always looking for ways to have the best impact on his team, company, product, and clients. Currently, Julien is the Manager of Simulation Software - Robotics & Digital Solutions at Johnson & Johnson. In this role, he manages a team of engineers and collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate work and support each other. Julien has also defined technical requirements for product verification and reorganized his team during the integration with Johnson & Johnson during the challenging Covid shelter-in-place situation. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Julien worked at Verb Surgical Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer & Tech Lead - Training & Simulation. In this role, he was responsible for simulator technologies for training and development for Surgical Robotics in a joint venture between Johnson & Johnson and Google. Julien was the first software engineer hired to start the Training & Simulation program for the surgical robotic program and was tasked to hire several more engineers to grow the team. He kick-started working relations with third-party simulation vendors and worked closely with the professional education team to define learning objectives. Julien was also promoted to Tech Lead for the Simulation platform by becoming well versed in all aspects of the robotic system. Julien has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées de Grenoble and an MS in Innovation Management from Génie Industriel - Grenoble-INP. He also has an Associate's degree in a Multi-disciplinary Science Program from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine.
