Kaif Ahsan is a passionate Computer Scientist with a dream of establishing a non-profit school to teach programming, cybersecurity, and robotics to kids. He is currently working as a Security Engineer at Atlassian and holds the Gold MLSA title at Microsoft. Kaif started his professional career as a Web Developer during high school and then transitioned into a Software Engineer. He has worked with multiple companies on a wide range of projects and interned for multinational corporations. He is still on the journey of learning new things and pursuing his passion. Kaif is very passionate about Cyber Security and spends most of his free time engaging in various security-focused activities such as attending meetups, events, reading books and blogs on ethical hacking. He loves listening to infosec podcasts such as Risky Business and Darknet Diaries. He also likes to get his hands dirty playing CTFs, designing workshops or solving machines on Try Hack Me, Hack The Box and PentesterLab. At Atlassian, Kaif performs security reviews, code reviews, and penetration tests to keep Atlassian products secure. He builds or reviews threat models of various complex architecture, identifies risks, and proposes mitigations. He influences and advises engineering teams on how to design, develop, and operate Atlassian products & services in a secure way. He has gained knowledge of web application & cloud platform (AWS) security best practices. Kaif has also worked as a Security Engineer Intern at Atlassian and as a Gold Student Ambassador at Microsoft. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing and Software Systems from the University of Melbourne, where he also completed his Foundation Studies in Science. Kaif's relevant experience in the field is 3.10 years, and his tech stack includes Web, AWS, Research Scientist, and Software Engineer.
