Kalaiarsi Periasamy is a self-motivated and data-driven product person with over 10 years of experience in building scalable B2B and B2C products across domains like EdTech, SaaS, Healthcare, and Oil&Gas. He is passionate about how tech can vastly improve the quality of people's lives, be it in terms of employability, health, or work efficiency. Kalaiarsi is currently the Co-Founder (Data and Product) of Braingroom, which was recognized as one of the Top 7 innovative Edtech companies worldwide in 2021. He is a huge advocate of the Octalysis Framework for gamification of products. In his first job at IOCL, Kalaiarsi suggested and implemented a flow sequence that helped improve the overall Petroleum Terminal's efficiency by 26%, for which he received 6 awards. This experience made him realize the impact that digital products can have on a large number of users, leading him to transition into software product development and data analysis. Kalaiarsi's skills and practices include product management, Agile methodologies, product strategy, A/B testing, data analysis, entrepreneurship, product roadmap, marketing, Facebook Ads, SQL, Tableau, Redash, data science, machine learning, Python, and neural networks. As an independent consultant, Kalaiarsi owned responsibility for JIRA backlog preparation for a Learn to code platform, did competitor analysis, LoFi wireframes, and usability testing for a remote working platform, developed a segment-specific features and user stories for a SaaS subscription management platform, and consulted for an FMCG startup on expanding into new market segments. As a project lead at Galvanize Test Prep | Entrayn Education Technologies, Kalaiarsi prepared a well-defined features list and prioritized product backlog with JIRA user stories, conducted user research and iterated on usability testing, wireframes, and mockup prototype, led the tech team to develop user-friendly products on new tech stacks from scratch, prepared roadmaps for existing and new product lines in alignment to business goals, and proactively prioritized features based on their impact vs. effort.
