Kalpaj Chaudhari is a self-motivated and organized Senior Engineer II with a passion for all things Android Internals and Chrome/Chromium Browser. He has a disciplined and clear thought process that is reflected in his work as a software engineer. Kalpaj has received international recognition as a "Recognized Developer" from xda-developers.com, winner of IEEE National Level Hackathon 2019, Deep Blue National Hackathon S4, National Network Championship 2014 and Finalist of Smart India Hackathon 2019. Kalpaj is a seasoned open-source developer with heavy contributions to LineageOS, which has more than 1 million installs, and volunteering for The Diana Initiative, empowering underrepresented individuals. He has been associated with high-growth startups such as Esper.io and Reliance JioTesseract in domains of VR/AR and Enterprise Mobility Management for the past 2 years. Kalpaj has technical expertise in Android Java, Android C++, AIDL over C++/Java, HIDL over C++/Java. He has worked as a Software Engineer, Android at Esper and as a Software Engineer Trainee, Mixed Reality at Jio. At Jio, he was part of the 7 member team that launched India's First Mixed Reality Glasses called "JioGlass." He built a privileged OS SDK that interfaced underlying custom hardware with the Android OS and ported AR/VR PowerHAL from Google Pixel 2 to SM8250 SoC for improved graphics performance. He also has hands-on experience with next-generation Qualcomm VR/AR SoCs such as SM8250, MSM8998, and MSM8996. Kalpaj has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Pillai College of Engineering, where he graduated in 2019. He has also worked as a Software Developer Intern at Urban Expansion Observatory, where he learned concepts of Geographic Imaging Systems (GIS) such as 3D Spatial View and Drone Mapping. He built an Android application for data collection using Navigational Markers and WebView and implemented shell scripts to automate pipelines for GIS and WebODM.
