Kamal Elangovan is a passionate entrepreneur and co-founder of InPhase, a power quality business that has transformed from a startup to a leader in the industry with over a million dollars in revenue. Kamal's passion for business started at a young age, where he sold balloon and bubble machines at the age of 11 and started teaching at 13. He even convinced his college to employ him and a few others part-time at the Internet lab during his studies, which he used to fund his hostel fees. In 2014, Kamal made the bold decision to quit a high-paying software career to start InPhase with his college roommates. In just six years, InPhase has achieved numerous accolades, including being recognized as one of the top five innovative power quality companies in the world by Startup-Insights in 2020 and qualifying as one of the top 20 energy startups in the country by the National Startup Awards in 2020. Additionally, InPhase won the second position in ONGC-Petrotech 2019's list of top 20 energy startups in the country in 2019, was listed as one of the top 10 hardware startups in India by Silicon India in 2018, and was awarded as one of the top startups by IIM-B in 2017 and TIE in 2016. Kamal's expertise in internet of things, ERP, operations, company finances, marketing, business development, software development, and product development comes from his years of experience in several startups. He is also the author of the book "Microsoft Dynamics Ax Reporting Cookbook 2012." Prior to InPhase, Kamal worked as a product development manager at Curogens and a Dynamics Ax freelance consultant at Freelancer Dynamics Ax, where he also authored a book and handled Dynamics Ax training. He also worked as a support consultant at Skalable Technologies Corp, where he set up release management and ALM through TFS and worked on integration projects with Salesforce, Snaplogic, and homegrown systems. Kamal also worked as a product consultant at Innovites, where he worked on feature improvements and solution directions for the multidimensional solution. Kamal holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Anna University and a Higher Secondary degree in Maths and Computer Science from PSK Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
