Kamal Kyal is a Pre-Final year undergraduate student enrolled in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He is an aspiring Software Engineer with a keen interest in technologies related to Web Development. Kamal is a problem solver and loves to apply his knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms to competitive programming. He has a great enthusiasm for learning new skills and constantly works on self skill-development. Kamal is also an avid reader and enjoys reading novels in his free time. Kamal is currently working as a Summer Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. In this role, he has analyzed brand perception and sentiments about a major OTT platform by social media listening. Kamal has deployed Selenium Webdriver and scraped out 1.3k tweets from the platform's Twitter account. He has preprocessed the data using various python libraries like regular expressions, NLTK, wordcloud, and implemented Part-of-Speech(POS) Tagging to find all the different aspects present in each tweet. Kamal has also performed Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis and found the polarity of every aspect. Previously, Kamal has worked as a General Secretary at the International Relations Cell, IIT Kharagpur. In this role, he was entrusted with the responsibility of increasing the global reach of IITKGP in coordination with OIR. Kamal led a team of 22 Student Members in various pursuits related to the institute's foreign policies and managed 20+ foreign students on campus, helping improve their stay at IIT Kharagpur. Kamal has also worked as a Student Member at the International Relations Cell, IIT Kharagpur, where he garnered 103 Foreign Training Offers from top universities like Stanford, Brown, and Carnegie Mellon. He organized the first online OnCampus round of the Hult Prize, which saw the participation of 40 teams, and collaborated with OIR to organize JDP Open House, which saw a participation of 200+ PhD students. Kamal also coordinated with ETS to avail a discount scheme for IITKGP students for GRE/TOEFL preparation. Kamal's technical skills include Research Scientist, Software Engineer, Web, Sentiment Analysis, Parts-of-speech, Selenium, and Python. He has 1.85 years of relevant experience.
