I was tasked with the development of a system designed for the continuous gathering and aggregation of BGP data from multiple sources. This endeavor entailed the utilization of various technologies, including Elixir, Oban, and Postgres. Additionally, I conducted exploratory work involving the Julia programming language.

I was part of the enterprise team member responsible for re-architecting the platform to support white labels for enterprise clients. Technologies involved: Scala microservices, RabbitMQ.

I joined the company’s architectural team responsible for leading the way to decompose existing solution into services. Both existing implementation and decoupled services were (re-)written in Elixir. I was responsible for designing and implementing those services in line with the expanded functionality requested by the business. My responsibilities included considering all aspects of the implementation, from things like idempotency through resiliency, maintainability to concrete POCs, and initial implementation.

I was tasked with updates to existing Kafka based microservices written in Erlang that are responsible for delivering the content to the user-facing platform.

My role involved working side by side with renowned Haskell consultancy focusing on refactoring custom business-critical systems. Immediately after starting, I was tasked with handling handover, creating documentation and providing new features requested by the business.

I was responsible for developing new features, bug fixing and maintenance of the core high-frequency trading system written in Erlang that handles data from betting exchanges and forwards it to mathematical models making data-based decisions to act on changing market. It’s a highly concurrent system with thousands of requests per second. I was tasked with performance tuning on making bets order path which is extremely time-sensitive.

Acting as an architecture consultant I was tasked with re-architecting the existing solution to support increased business needs. I was the sole architect on this project and presented the proposed architecture and technologies to the project stakeholders.

They liked my approach and I was then tasked in implementing a proof of concept of the proposed CQRS system. I used Kafka and I integrated it into the existing estate as well as to the companies 3rd party providers.

I was also asked if I could help improve the way the developers worked and I drafted a number of proposals to this effect. I also played a major role in executing these and broader technical plans, introducing technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

I was involved in every stage of implementing these technologies including installation, configuration and mentoring the team on how to use minikube, execute live deployments and support infrastructure.

With the architecture and new processes in place, I was then tasked with creating production-grade  Node.js code utilizing Kafka and GraphQL across multiple microservices.

I also had the opportunity to work with PostgreSQL on this project.

In my role I have been working on eventually consistent systems where the data is spread between ships that run mostly offline and occasionally connect via satellite and onshore offices. This is a decentralized system running off a microservices-based architecture. It incorporates many challenges such as distributed joins, event sourcing, strict network requirements/limits of deployment (such as package size). It is also fully GDPR compliant using multi-zone encryption storage of sensitive data as well as multi-tenant non-sensitive stores.

For the first 4 months, I was responsible for architecting, building and delivering core backend GRPC microservices written in Go(Agile team of 5). As development progress wasn’t satisfying enough, in my own time I developed a Node.js proof of concept and after demonstrating it to the board I was given the green light to develop it further. For the next 2 months, I have developed and architected a GraphQL middleware in Node.js(based on my proposal) which integrates all of the existing services and supports frontend development.

I was solely responsible for both architecting and implementing the company's technical vision. This included the setup of an AWS environment and the architecture of an MVP software solution developed in Elixir with Phoenix and Node.js (serverless).

I solely developed the whole solution from the ground up and was in charge of the complete project lifecycle including design, implementation, and maintenance.

The SaaS application primarily involved parsing different file formats and querying 3rd party APIs to agglomerate the data before storing it in Postgres. This data was then rendered using map data visualizations via d3.js.

I was working in a team of 6 developers, we were focused on the goal of delivering micro-services crucial to the business. These are being written primarily in Elixir using Phoenix. As an example, I'm currently working on the Payments Microservice (Worldpay integration). We pair programmed and worked in an Agile environment with week-long sprints, pushing releases live several times a day using TeamCity.
