Kanika Gera is an Associate - Software Developer and Middleware Engineer at Goldman Sachs with a passion for learning and exploring new technologies. With a background in computer science engineering, Kanika possesses a diverse skill set that includes cloud computing, systems, deep learning, and AI. Currently, Kanika works as a Software Developer, SME for RabbitMQ, and SRE Specialist for messaging products at Goldman Sachs. Her work involves provisioning resilient messaging systems on-prem data centers through IaaS, capacity management, defining SLIs and SLOs, setting up monitoring, alerting, and more observability. She also troubleshoots issues and automates processes using Java, SpringBoot, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Jira, GitLab, Prometheus, Grafana, Docker, and asynchronous programming (RxJava, Reactor Rabbit). Kanika is well-versed in clustered messaging products Kafka and RabbitMQ, REST APIs, microservice architecture, and code optimization. Kanika has previously worked at Samsung as a Voice Intelligence Intern, where she worked on cutting-edge NLP techniques to build analyzing tools for the voice assistant Bixby. She used NLP techniques to build a text analyzer and recognize gibberish using tokenization, BERT, RoBERTa, and AlBERTa. She has hands-on experience in hugging-face, PyTorch, and fast-ai during this internship. Kanika holds a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Computer Science from Manipal University Jaipur.
