Kanishk Dudeja is an Engineering Manager at Automattic with a passion for computer science and a belief in technology's potential to solve real-life problems. With over 11 years of relevant experience, Kanishk has been writing code for the past five years, primarily for backend systems. He is currently working as a backend engineer for WooCommerce.com, where he is responsible for POC’s for technical viability, system architecture design, developing core features, infrastructure scalability, DevOps, and managing a backend team. Previously, Kanishk worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Wingify, where he developed PushCrew, a web push notifications product, from scratch and was involved in day-to-day engineering operations. His responsibilities included system architecture design, infrastructure engineering, and managing a backend team. He also built custom tools for Sales, Ops, and QA and handled technology stack upgrades and infrastructure scaling with no downtime. Kanishk's interests lie in scalable system design, distributed systems, and infrastructure engineering. He is proficient in several programming languages, including Golang, PHP, Python, Ruby, C++, and Bash. He is also well-versed in databases such as MySQL and Postgresql, in-memory data storage like MemCached and Redis, and message queueing solutions like RabbitMQ and Kafka. He has worked with frameworks and libraries such as Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, CodeIgniter, Django, Flask, and Content Management Systems like WordPress and Joomla. He is also experienced in deployments using Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes. Kanishk holds a B.tech in Computer Sciences from Manav Rachna University.
