Kanishka Chauhan is a Lead Software Engineer at Informatica with over 7 years of relevant experience. He is passionate about taking up challenging projects and delivering them on time. Kanishka has primarily worked on ETL products, including "Edge Data Streaming" (EDS) and "Data Engineering Streaming" (DES). EDS is a lightweight product used for ingesting data from heterogeneous sources into desired targets, while DES does the heavy processing with a wide array of available transformations and streams data from streaming sources to the desired target. Kanishka's technical skills include Java, Docker, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Hadoop Stack, JMS/ActiveMQ, AWS, and GCP. Currently, he is working on the PC2Cloud project, which is a part of the IICS product offering, and is focused on improving the performance of the Google Bigquery connector. In his previous role as a Senior Software Engineer at Informatica, Kanishka worked on enabling SSL and Kerberos support in Kafka, wrote JMS target, and migrated Spark 2.0 DES code to Spark 3.0. He also wrote Kudu connector from scratch for DES. As a Software Engineer, he worked on the EDS product, where he stabilized the product, added security features like encryption while sending data over the network, and enabled Kerberos and SSL feature support for Kafka. Kanishka also handled multiple releases of the EDS product and was part of multiple POCs done for customers, including onboarding EDS on docker containers to scale up/down the number of agents required to process the data based on load conditions. Kanishka holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Hyderabad, India, and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from SRMS CET, Bareilly. He also attended Kendriya Vidyalaya NER, Bareilly, and Kendriya Vidyalaya DCW, Patiala, Punjab, for his primary and secondary education.
