Kapil Arya is a Senior Software Engineer at Grab, with over 6 years of relevant experience in the information technology industry. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Kapil is a quick learner and can easily adapt to any technology stack. He manages the complete funds flow for a Grab user, from funds coming in to Grab via top-up and cash-in, to funds going out of Grab via cash-out. Kapil has built various adapters that connect with various third-party providers to perform the actual money transaction. He has been actively involved in designing payment features and new integrations with banks. Kapil has worked on some complex payment features from scratch and revamped some existing ones. He has also worked on bank account or card tokenization for direct debit via token. Kapil is involved in the product lifecycle from start till its launch, including product kickoff, documentation, preparing tech spec, development, QA, rollout to certain users for testing in prod, and then complete rollout. He is also involved in monitoring the system health by looking at business metrics and system, infra alerts, and debugging issues during an outage. Before joining Grab, Kapil worked at Oyo Vacation Homes and Blackbuck. At Oyo, he was an SDE-2, where he developed the order stage life cycle and order document life cycle from scratch. At Blackbuck, Kapil worked in the order management system team and the freight visibility team. He developed multiple features for the OMS mobile app and wrote code for the complete backend for the Android app and portal. In the freight visibility team, Kapil developed metrics from scratch for the supply app, procurement team, and truck profile. He was actively involved in design and code reviews for juniors in his team.
