Kapil Malhotra is a seasoned hands-on engineering leader with 16 years of experience in shipping high-quality products and cloud services in top product organizations. Currently, he is the Senior Vice President at Kony Labs, a market leader in the Mobile Application Development Platform space. Kapil is privileged to run a fantastic team of 150+ Product Engineers who are changing the world of Digital Banking. Kapil believes in leading from the front, building strong engineering teams, and keeping the customer at the center of the universe and the reason for the team's existence. His passion is to work on initiatives whose success or failure is critical to the success or failure of the organization. Prior to joining Kony Labs, Kapil worked at Microsoft, where he was the Principal Engineering Manager for Bing Local Search and Microsoft Azure Cloud Backup & System Center Data Protection Manager. At Bing Local Search, he built and launched Bing Local Search Services in 13 international markets. He also delivered relevance and data quality gains, which led to a multi-fold improvement in user engagement. At Microsoft Azure Cloud Backup & System Center Data Protection Manager, he led Quality teams on one of the first server product teams to deliver a service offering (Azure Cloud Backup) in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. He shipped multiple versions of System Center Data Protection Manager, growing a team from zero to 35 engineers. He directly managed the most important customer engagements for the products. Kapil completed his SSC from Loyola High School in 1994. He is proficient in various technologies such as Mobile, Search, Senior Software Engineer, Backend, and Azure. With 23.37 years of relevant experience, Kapil is a result-driven leader who is passionate about building and leading high-performance teams that deliver quality products and services that exceed customer expectations.
