He is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and has hands-on experience in implementing ML algorithms for designing and developing business solutions. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Kapil has a keen interest in exploring and implementing new creative ways to improve processes using AI and ML. Kapil is a skilled programmer with expertise in Python, Flask, Angular, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. He has a varied experience from graphic designing to platform development to building strategic Proof of Concepts in the domain of AI/ML-led digital transformation. Kapil is a quick learner and adapts well to new technologies and tools. Currently, Kapil is working as a Senior Software Engineer at smartek21. In the past, he has worked with OYO, where he received the Product Excellence Award for building an Image-based Search product to identify duplicate listings that prevented annual revenue leakage of $50,000 for the Indian market. He has also designed a Hotel Similarity Estimation algorithm to find similar hotels based on performance metrics and devised Multivariate Time Series based Used Room Nights (URNs) Forecasting for the next 5 days with RNNs. At OYO, Kapil also implemented an Occupancy Model for defining and finding occupancy of 5000+ UK competitor properties and developed a Slack bot and scaled it across 8 geographies to automate performance updates and alerts resulting in a significant reduction in manual process. Kapil's education background includes a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur and Senior Secondary Education in Science Stream from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Dausa. He is a software engineer, data scientist, ML, and AI expert with experience in NLP, Computer Vision, Keras, Search, Web, AngularJS, Sentiment Analysis, OpenCV, scikit-image, Scikit, Javascript, Tensorflow, MySQL, MSSQL, infra, and Apache Hive.
