Karan Bansal is an accomplished Engineering Manager with a strong software engineering background and a focus on project management, product development, and team leadership. He has built teams from scratch multiple times, delivering high-quality projects and products within tight deadlines. Karan holds a B-Tech in computer science from IIT Kanpur and has 7.03 years of relevant experience in building cloud-native solutions using AWS. Karan has a proven track record of success in the tech industry, having served as the founding engineer at Avid Secure, a cloud security start-up that was acquired by Sophos in Jan 2019. He then joined Sophos as an Engineering Manager (Software and Security), where he collaborated with Product Management in defining the product vision and guiding teams on planning, designing, and building software. He also drove the hiring process, managed team members, and established a positive working environment. Karan was also a Team Lead at Sophos, where he led the team for attribute-based access control and synchronized security. Currently, Karan is the Security Engineering Manager at Urban Company, where he is the head of product security.
