Karan Bavishi is a Computer Science graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with 4 years of industry experience in networks and systems. He has a keen interest in computer networks, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. Karan has previously worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Rubrik and as a Software Engineer at Arista. At Arista, he helped build software features for EOS, the operating system that runs on its datacenter switches. He worked on a variety of areas, including L2 protocols such as Audio-video Bridging (AVB), Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP), and 802.1X MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB). He also worked on high availability infrastructure such as stateful switchover (SSO) for modular chassis switches and SSO support for AVB & LLDP, as well as high availability for license management. In addition, he worked on systems and applications such as license management & enforcement and SNMP MIBs. Karan holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). His technical expertise includes infrastructure and software engineering. Overall, Karan has 14.53 years of relevant experience and is passionate about exploring new technologies and solving complex problems in the field of computer science.
